Chris Gleason
As Chief Clinical Officer of BRIGHTSIDE Recovery, Chris is responsible for every aspect of the patient’s experience. He has held numerous leadership positions over the past 25 years in substance abuse treatment and has worked in all levels of substance abuse and mental health treatment. Chris is skilled in Adolescent Therapy, Substance Abuse Prevention, Substance Use Disorders, Medicine and Chemical Dependency. Chris co-led a team that received the prestigious SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) Science of Service Award in 2010 for a group of therapists who did home based co-occurring treatment for adolescents.
Chris is a sought-after presenter on co-occurring, opiates and community integration. He has spoken on the local, state and national level. He is also an adjunct professor at Aurora University in the School of Social Work with a focus on Substance Use and Co-Occurring. He brings a servant leadership approach and recovery focus. Chris is results driven that respect the client and staff experience that respects each individual’s pathway to recovery. He has been sober for over 30 years and believes in the power of the human spirit to change. Chris has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Judson University, Master’s degree from Argosy University in Community Counseling and is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
